As investors, leaders and specialists - women are increasing their presence across financial services from taking on investment decisions to assuming leadership positions.

When it comes to building wealth, according to a report from the Boston Consulting Group, women have more than a third of the world's wealth under their control - and are increasing it faster each year.1  Yet, investment products are often still primarily aimed at men. 

Stephanie Pierce, CEO of Dreyfus and Mellon at BNY Investments, says one of the biggest challenges facing the industry today is getting women to be both practitioners and customers, particularly if they don't see anyone they recognize or to whom they can relate.

Here, BNY looks at the growth of women in finance, their views on wealth and retirement, mentorship of the younger generations and why more inclusivity is needed.
